Azeri serviceman injured in landmine blast

A warrantofficer of the Azerbaijani army was injured in a landmine explosion near theceasefire line with Armenian troops, APA said, citing the Ministry of Defense.

QamatNasirov was hospitalized with serious injuries, the Baku-based agency saidwithout giving further detail.

Armenia seizednearly 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s internationally-recognized territory,including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts, in a war after theSoviet breakup that killed 20,000 Azeris and displaced about a million.

Large-scalehostilities ended with a Russia-brokered ceasefire in 1994 and the sides haveyet to sign a peace agreement.
