Azerbaijan reveals birth weight statistics for 2025

The majority of infants born in Azerbaijan in 2025—accounting for 63.2%—recorded a birth weight between 2,500 and 3,499 grams, according to the State Statistics Committee.

Babies born weighing 3,500 grams or more represented 27.4% of total newborns. Meanwhile, infants weighing under 2,500 grams accounted for 9.4%, with 8.2% falling in the 1,500–2,499 gram bracket and 1.2% weighing between 500 and 1,499 grams.
