Germany's boss had an unpleasant post-match surprise for Ronaldo

Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments at huge sports events go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.

So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days in Brazil with the World Cup now in full swing.Did you see anything particularly noteworthy that passed off without mention? Feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments section below...1. Germany coach Joachim Loew picks nose before shaking hands with Cristiano RonaldoWhen Cristiano Ronaldo marched down the tunnel following Portugal’s limp 4-0 defeat to Germany, opposition coach Joachim Loew offered him a consolatory handshake. All very sporting. Until you see the clip showing that Loew had been carrying out a little, er, "nasal evacuation" immediately before offering his outstretched hand. There's no way around this: the evidence is pretty damning, as this Tweet from football uber-hack Gabriele Marcotti clearly shows:Yikes. Perhaps fear of this exact sort of situation might explain away Lionel Messi's apparent snub of a small child ahead of his match for Argentina on Sunday:2. Mario Balotelli takes megalomania to a new level by filling Panini album with stickers of himselfDo we even need to write a caption for this one? We do not. But let's just say that we doubt Balotelli will have endeared himself to his team-mates much with his latest stunt.3. German fans build very own all-seater World Cup grandstandA group of passionate German fans have gone to extreme lengths to support their nation’s quest for a fourth World Cup – by building a mobile 20-seater stand. The wooden grandstand, which features classic plastic seats and a roof, was built by 11 lifelong friends from Wallerstädten, a small village near Frankfurt.Apparently it cost them just 50 euros apiece to make their own - see more pics, including one of the stand packed to capacity, in our blog here.4. Chinese fan dies after World Cup viewing marathonWe've had some wonderful highs already from this World Cup, but Monday brought a tragic low too. A 25-year-old Chinese fan was so enthused by the World Cup that he pulled an all-nighter on the first two nights of the tournament - and sadly died. The man from Suzhou, near Shanghai, was found in front of his television a few hours after the Spain-Netherlands match on Friday night, which finished at around 5am Chinese time.According to the Xinhua news agency, doctors said the death was related to an excessive lack of sleep, but couldn't be sure whether it was sheer exhaustion or a possible heart attack.5. Mexican fan reunited with thousands of pounds worth of lost ticketsA Mexican fan almost had his World Cup ruined after leaving a backpack containing nine tickets for games on a bus.Eric Tejeda left the bag, which also contained money, credit cards and clothes in Natal before Mexico's opening game of the tournament on Friday, and thought his tickets were lost until a local nurse discovered them. The nurse, Luzimar Nascimento, then desperately tried to reunite Tejeda with his belongings, calling the credit card companies, Facebook and got Mexico fans to show his photo to others to find him.(uk.eurosport.yahoo.com)Bakudaily.az
