Azerbaijani gas is cheap and stable."

The organization 'Platform-for freedom' held an action for buying gas from Azerbaijan, News.Az reports.

President of Georgia Georgiy Margvelashvili raised the issue of gas supplies from Russia in the government on October 25.
"Georgian authorities plan to sign an agreement with Gazprom until December, while Azerbaijan's senir official is ready to supply any volume of natural gas to us. Russian gas is expensive and unstable. It is a tool for blackmail, while Azerbaijan gas is cheap and stable," the organizers of the action held at the business center of former premier Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
They believe that the issue lies in the political rather than economic plane.

The date of signing the agreement with Gazprom is unclear yet. The Energy Ministry says that the document will be signed in 'the nearest future'. They also noted that Minister Kakha Kaladze's statement about completion of talks with Gazprom until December remains in power.

In the coming days Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze plans to visit Iran to negotiate Iranian gas supplies and transit of Iranian natural gas via Georgia.
