Azerbaijan ready for active cooperation with Belarus

Azerbaijan is ready for active continuation of cooperation with Belarus in all directions, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

President Aliyev made the remarks Nov. 28 during the one-on-one meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, who is on an official visit to Baku.

"We hold regular meetings. It shows that the relations between our countries are close and friendly, said President Aliyev. "We regularly meet in Minsk, in Baku, in other places, within the frameworks of international events, and an exchange of views with you is always very useful and pleasant,” President Aliyev told Lukashenko during the meeting.

"Over the recent years, we have solved a lot of issues of bilateral format, and there are good results. And every time, during a new meeting, we summarize the outcomes and see that even in a short period, we still have results,” said President Aliyev. "We are ready for active continuation of cooperation with Belarus in all directions. Today the bilateral format covers almost all spheres of our life,” said Ilham Aliyev.

The president went on to add that the process of increasing cooperation in traditional spheres continues. President Aliyev said that new directions of cooperation are also being defined.

"We are friends and partners, we have always supported and support each other in all matters. I am very pleased to see you again in Baku as Azerbaijan’s good friend, a person who is much loved and respected in Azerbaijan, and I am sure that Your visit today will give new impetus to our cooperation,” said Ilham Aliyev.

"Many documents will be signed that will determine the paths of development of relations in the future. And, we will surely talk about the bilateral issues, regional issues and the issues that currently are of concern to the entire world community. We are friends and partners,” President Aliyev said.

He once again welcomed President Lukashenko and thanked him for accepting an invitation and visiting Azerbaijan.

"I wish you a successful and pleasant visit," President Aliyev said.
