Azerbaijan’s Central Bank to put up notes for auction

An auction for placement of short-term notes worth 75 million manats (1.7339 AZN/USD on Dec. 3) of Azerbaijan’s Central Bank will be held at the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) Dec. 7, the BSE said.

Some 750,000 notes at a par value of 100 manats each and maturity period of 29 days will be put up for auction. The maturity date of the notes is January 5, 2017, according to AzerNews.

Short-term notes are a tool of monetary policy to regulate the money supply in circulation. Only banks can obtain notes.
