"The signing of a new comprehensive agreement between the European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan will be our main priority. We are confident that this will not only help expand our bilateral cooperation, but also serve to further strengthen the Azerbaijani economy and increase its prosperity and diversification," the newly-appointed head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Peter Michalko, said at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev while presenting his credentials on October 6.

"The European Union is interested in a stable, secure and prosperous South Caucasus within the Eastern Partnership program. We are looking forward to Azerbaijan's active participation and contribution to the preparations for the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit," he added.
