Latvian MP: Azerbaijan becoming more important country for Europe today

Azerbaijan is becoming a strategically more important country for Europe today, Artuss Kaimins, a member of the Latvian Saeima (parliament) said.

He said that from this point of view, the processes taking place in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus are the focus of European politicians' attention.

According to him, Azerbaijan is one of the former Soviet countries showing more interest in European values: "In this regard, the prospects of cooperation with the countries of the European Union, including Latvia, are actual. Latvia and Azerbaijan are interested in further development of mutual cooperation that is emphasized at various high-level meetings. We would like to have many mutual visits, which are especially important nowadays."
