"We are seriously concerned about the increased tension in Karabakh. Over the past few days, there have been multiple ceasefire regime violations. On March 5, an armed incident resulted in losses from both the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides,” the spokeperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, said.

She called on the parties to exercise restraint and take steps to reduce tensions: "We reaffirm the need to observe a full ceasefire and strictly follow the provisions of the Statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia dated November 9, 2020.”

According to Zakharova, the incident in Karabakh once again confirms the importance of Baku and Yerevan returning to negotiations as soon as possible within the framework of the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021.
