Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission hosts meeting with CIS Sec.-Gen.

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov has met with a delegation led by Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Sergei Lebedev, who is in Azerbaijan to observe the early presidential elections, reported from the Secki-2024.az website.

At the meeting, Panahov said that the observation institution plays an important role in ensuring the transparency of elections, therefore the CEC always attaches special importance to cooperation with international organizations.

The head of the Central Election Commission noted the great interest of international observers in the elections being held in Azerbaijan.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, CIS Secretary General Lebedev asked to be informed about the implemented projects and the work done in connection with the presidential elections.

The chairman of the Central Election Commission spoke about measures to ensure free, fair and transparent presidential elections, about implemented projects and answered questions of interest.
