Azal continues flights to Israel despite security concerns
23.07.2014 14:34
Azal, Azerbaijan’s largest airliner, hasn’t made any changes to its schedule of flights to Israel despite the Jewish state’s ongoing military conflict with Hamas.

The state-owned company said an Azal passenger plane left Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport for Israel today at 0944 local time as planned.

Maharram Safarli, a spokesman for Azal, said the company has no immediate plans to cancel flights to Israel.

“The Israeli government guarantees the security of our flights,” he said.

US and European airliners have canceled flights to Tel Aviv as Hamas continued rocket attacks into Israel in response to the bombardment of Gaza.

More than 600 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and 29 Israelis, mostly army servicemen, have been killed in the conflict.
