Man executed in Iran for deadly attack on Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran

Iran on Wednesday executed the man convicted of staging a deadly armed attack on Azerbaijan’s embassy in Tehran in January 2023, Iran’s judiciary news agency Mizan reported.

The attack resulted in the death of embassy guard Orkhan Asgarov. The execution followed the Iranian Supreme Court’s approval of the death sentence.
