Turkey says it is unaware of U.S. plan to manage Zangezur corridor

The administration of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said it was unaware of reports suggesting that the United States intends to manage the Zangezur corridor.

“We have no knowledge of this, so we cannot comment,” a presidential official told RIA Novosti.

In recent days, media outlets have reported on U.S. interest in regional transport and communication projects, including the Zangezur corridor. Washington has not issued any public statement on the matter so far.

The Zangezur corridor is a proposed transport route that would connect mainland Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and is seen as a strategically significant element in the regional geopolitical balance.
