India will be able to meet its oil demand from alternative sources if secondary sanctions disrupt Russian supplies, Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told Reuters.

He said India has already diversified its suppliers from around 27 to about 40 countries. “If something happens, we’ll handle it,” Puri said.

Russia remains India’s top oil supplier, accounting for about 35% of total imports.
