Aliyev, Trump envoy discuss cooperation and Caucasus peace

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met on Wednesday in Washington with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steven Witkoff during his visit to the United States at Trump’s invitation, the Azerbaijani president’s official website said.

Before the talks, SOCAR and ExxonMobil signed a cooperation memorandum, with Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and ExxonMobil Vice President John Ardill as signatories.

The sides discussed prospects for strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States, the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, and the regional peace agenda.
