Russian ideologist Alexander Dugin on Azerbaijan-Armenia deal

Alexander Dugin, a leading ideologist of the “Russian world,” described the Washington-signed agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia as a “failure of Russia’s policy in the South Caucasus.” He said Russia has lost influence in the region while those responsible remain unpunished.

“This deal is proof of our weakness. We no longer control even the post-Soviet space. If we are not respected here, who will take us seriously on the world stage? This is not just a defeat — it is a slap to every Russian,” the philosopher said.

Dugin added blaming Prime Ministers Pashinyan and Aliyev is misplaced: “We lost because we entrusted negotiations to the wrong people. The guilty must be held accountable.”
