Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project, outlined in the Aug. 8 Washington declaration, is a subject of bilateral discussions between Armenia and the United States.

Presenting a copy of the declaration in parliament, Pashinyan stressed that the document, signed by himself, US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, affirms Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. “Communications across Armenia’s territory can only be decided by Armenia,” he said.

He dismissed Aliyev’s renewed use of the term “Zangezur corridor,” saying no infrastructure with that name can exist on Armenian soil. “TRIPP is on the Armenia–US agenda. Azerbaijan may call its own projects what it wants, but this has nothing to do with Armenia’s sovereign territory,” he said.

At the Washington summit, Aliyev and Pashinyan signed a seven-point joint declaration and initialled a peace treaty, mediated by Trump. The TRIPP project was introduced as part of regional connectivity agreements, while Armenia and the US also signed a memorandum of intent on the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
