Azerbaijan backs Trump’s Gaza peace plan

Azerbaijan has expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace initiative to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the foreign ministry said.

“We welcome the comprehensive plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the conflict in Gaza. A sustainable and just peace requires sincere commitment, mutual trust and respect for international law,” the ministry said in a post on social media platform X.

The ministry added that a lasting peace and political settlement required prisoner and hostage exchanges, addressing humanitarian issues, easing tensions and strengthening trust.

“A long-term settlement, based on the two-state principle, can only be achieved through dialogue and goodwill,” it said.
