Solar plasma cloud approaches Earth, no magnetic storm yet detected

A cloud of solar plasma is approaching Earth, but no magnetic storms have been recorded so far, according to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Space Research Institute.

The cloud was ejected from the Sun on October 3 during a relatively mild solar flare, allowing Earth’s magnetosphere to adjust without significant disruption.

Scientists said that while geomagnetic conditions remain stable, short-term weak magnetic disturbances may still occur over the next 24 hours.
