Ex-presidential administration official Eldar Amirov arrested in case linked to Ramiz Mehdiyev

Former presidential administration official Eldar Amirov has been arrested in connection with the criminal case involving Ramiz Mehdiyev, Azerbaijan’s former presidential chief of staff.

Amirov, who previously headed the secretariat of the National Academy of Sciences and worked in the Presidential Administration under Mehdiyev, has been charged with an alleged attempt to overthrow the government.

The Sabail District Court ordered Amirov’s detention for four months pending investigation, the report said.
