Zelenskiy says Russia is losing influence in Azerbaijan and Armenia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia was losing its influence in the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe, including in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Moldova.
In an interview with Britain’s The Guardian newspaper, Zelenskiy linked the trend to geopolitical shifts triggered by the war in Ukraine.
"Russia is losing its influence in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Moldova,” Zelenskiy said, adding that Moscow was also facing a broader weakening of its international position.
According to the Ukrainian president, Russia’s foreign policy course has resulted in a shrinking number of allies and increasing international isolation.
Zelenskiy also said these developments could eventually affect public opinion inside Russia and lead to growing questions about the country’s current political direction.
Russia has not yet commented on the remarks.
