Mollazade warns of smear campaign against Azerbaijan

An active smear campaign is being carried out against Azerbaijan at the moment, said Asim Mollazade, a member of parliament and leader of the Democratic Reforms Party.

The campaign is aimed at dividing Azerbaijan and occupying its territory, Mollazade said at a roundtable discussion on the 1988 events in the city of Sumqayit, 30 km north of Baku.

The Armenian diaspora is actively involved in the smear campaign against Azerbaijan, which needs to be ready for all kinds of provocation, Mollazade said. 

The roundtable discussion was organized by the Center for Strategic Studies under the president of Azerbaijan.
