Azerbaijan pumps more oil, gas in 11 months

Azerbaijan increased its production of crude oil and natural gas in the first 11 months of the year, according to the State Statistics Committee.The country pumped 39.5 million tons of oil in the January-November period, up from 39.4 million tons a year earlier, the Statistics Committee said in a report on its website.Gas output increased to 16.2 billion cubic meters from 15.7 billion cubic meters, it said.The offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields, led by British oil giant BP, accounts for nearly 80 percent of Azerbaijan’s oil production. ACG produced 24.5 million tons of oil in the first nine months of the year, down 3.1 percent year-on-year, BP said last month.

ACG partners include Azerbaijan’s state oil company Socar, Statoil, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Itochu, TPAO and ONGC Videsh.
