24.06.2025 18:15

Radiation levels along Azerbaijan’s southern border with Iran, including Nakhchivan, remain within normal limits, according to a joint statement by the Ministries of Emergency Situations, Ecology and Natural Resources, and Digital Development and Transport.

Regular monitoring was conducted in 30 locations using specialized equipment to measure air, soil, and river water for radiation. The analysis, based on IAEA safety standards, found no traces of enriched uranium isotopes or artificial radionuclides.

Automated environmental monitoring stations operate daily in border regions such as Astara, Beylagan, Zangilan, and Sadarak. Officials confirmed no radioactive contamination or abnormal gamma or neutron radiation levels were detected.

Radiological and radioecological assessments continue under the supervision of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency’s Nuclear Research Department.
