Number of Azerbaijanis in Georgia rises
The number of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia increased over the past year, according to data from Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
Azerbaijanis remain one of the country’s largest ethnic groups and are concentrated mainly in the Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti regions.
The increase was attributed to both natural population growth and migration trends, according to the statistics.
The Azerbaijani community is the largest ethnic minority in Georgia and plays an important role in the country’s economic and social life.
